I have been surrounded by state troopers my whole life because of my dad who just recently retired.  I just want to let anyone that would read this know how much I respect and appreciate all you do! I just hope that people can read this and know that people really do admire what you do.  I know that's not heard very often.

Thank you!

Allison Thorpe

I recently visited the new KSPPA facility while in Frankfort to meet with my son who is presently assigned to Post 1 - Mayfield.  The memorial section was extremely moving and well thought out.  Although the facility is primarily for KSPPA personnel, it would make an excellent site for multiagency in-service usage.  Out of all the various state and metropolitan support services professional organization facilities i've visited in my previous 23 years of active law enforcement , none have even come close to presenting the professionalism and class act of the troopers and  board of directors whose dedication, hard work and sacrifice made this building and its message possible. If there was one other area I would like to see as a visiting member of the general public, it would be an area or wall of honor listing the names of those Troopers and their individual commendations or achievements that led to their selection as a recipient of a Medal of Honor, or valor  or other line of duty commendation.

I came acrosss this web site by error, but I'm glad I found it.  I worked for the Kentucky State Police for 16 years and am retired now.  I think its wonderful that you have a building to store and display all your memorabilia.  I think the people in the Commonwealth take for granted our Kentucky State Police and I know for a fact how much a sacrifice they make for our state.  It was a joy to work at the Kentucky State Police, because I learned alot and made a lot of friends.  It was great looking at the grand opening pictures, especially seeing Col. Fortner and General Wellman.  They were two great men to work for.  May I make a suggestion as far as Kentucky State Police history and artifacts, Helen Ritchie, who worked for State Police, Fiscal Affairs Office,  probably one of the longest working employees, collected everything Kentucky State Police.  I highly recommend you contact her about history & such for your new building.  Congratulations on the New Building and I hope it continues to develop to bigger and better things.

Having been around from the inception of the KSPPA and seeing where it is today is something to behold. From a beginning where the command staff was against us and a legislature that didn't recognize us...baby we've come a long way and I am very proud. Today the KSPPA enjoys a very good relationship with the staff and legislature which affords us a greater voice when we ask for raises, etc. Keep up the excellent work.

To all involved in the accomplishments to date...I have been a member of this organization for several years.  It has seen some high points and some low points.  This is, without a doubt, the greatest accomplishment this organization has seen in a long while and for me it is absolutely a priviledge to say that I am a member of the Kentucky State Police Professional Association.

I want to thank each and every member for the opportunity to call you "friend" and hope to be able to do that for years to come.

I would just like to say, on behalf of our family, what an honor and a priviledge it was to be involved in the dedication of the new building today.  It is absolutely perfect.  We appreciate the time and effort it has taken to get to this point.  What a wonderful accomplishment!
